Staying aligned and knowing asap when we are diverging is vital to our success. This is particularly important for us as a distributed team. To accomplish this, here’s how we've committed to keeping each other up to date every day:

1. Post an update to #team-changelog

In the beginning and end of your day you get a ping from Geekbot, walking you through quick questions to keep the team posted on progress and risks. This gives us an opportunity to contribute to each others work, and provides a platform for us to help each other stay aligned and focused.

(Pro tip: There is a feature in Sunsama that we love to use, that writes an update for you after you've planned your day. See more below).

2. Keep the threads you're working on up to date

What we’re working on should be documented in Asana. We aggressively keep each other updated by commenting on tasks with progress updates or concerns that something might be at risk. This allows us to have an overview of how we are progressing towards our goals, and understand when we may need to re-prioritize to stay on track or adjust delivery to stakeholders (internal or external).

3. [optional] Set up Sunsama to help with daily guided posts

Sunsama has a built in flow for sharing daily updates with your team. Try signing in to our Avo space with your Avo Google account or request access from a teammate: https://app.sunsama.com/group/avo.
